Terms

Use Schism carefully

You are responsible for the information you enter, the people you invite, and reviewing scanned, imported, or suggested details before sharing them. OCR and supported message parsing can make mistakes. Schism is an expense-organizing tool, not a bank, payment service, accounting service, or financial adviser, and it does not move money or settle debts.

Accounts and shared groups

Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and only share group information you have a right to share. Group members can see shared expenses, splits, balances, claims, and related activity. Do not misuse Schism, interfere with the service, or access another person’s account without permission.

Availability and subscriptions

Features may change and the service may occasionally be unavailable. If paid features are offered through Google Play, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are also governed by Google Play’s terms. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your Schism account.

Ending use

You may stop using Schism and request account deletion. We may limit access where necessary to protect people, the service, or comply with law.

No warranty

Schism is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that scanned receipts, imported messages, balances, or suggested splits will be accurate. You are responsible for checking them before relying on them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Schism and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or amounts you paid or failed to recover from other people, arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except where the law that applies where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
